I do find that stressful! What I like to do is make recipes where I have the basics in my kitchen (flour, sugar, butter, etc) Then when it comes to the flavor I only need to buy 1 or 2 items when I go grocery shopping. For example, the only thing I bought for the lime cake is limes. Then I use the left over limes for shrimp stir fry or tacos.
